Resource Papers
To support the conclusions and recommendations set out in our full report, we produced 5 'resource' papers providing a summary of the detailed research and literature review which we carried out.
The papers will make it easier for others to get to grip with what the social economy is, key issues in social economy development at local, national and international level, case studies of a range of Northern Ireland social economy organisations and a menu of possible actions to support the social economy at local level.

Social Economy Resource Paper 4 - Case Studies

Social Economy Resource Paper 5 - Developing at Local Level
a structured menu of possible actions to develop the social economy at local level. As in a Chinese restaurant menu, no-one suggests that you work right through the menu; different actions and combinations will be appropriate for different localities - but this paper provides a structured starting point for considering what should be done in your locality (21 pages)
To a considerable extent, our 2004 study of Finance for the Social Economy in Northern Ireland was a follow on from the 2001 study in that the earlier study recommended a partnership approach towards working on defining the financial mechanisms for the social economy and the later study was implemented using the structures that we recommended should be put in place in the 2001 study.
